Hose Cycle Test for Vibration

Vibration hose testing is undertaken using either servo-hydraulic systems (large displacements/ low frequency) or electro-dynamic shakers (higher frequency / lower displacements). Vibration machines can be married to temperature and humidity chambers in order to combine vibration endurance with thermal cycling environments.

    • MTS Servo-hydraulics are used for slow frequencies and large displacements. Common tests used with the servo-hydraulics include flex fatigue and durability. Frequencies can range up to 200 Hz. Servo-hydraulic machines are used with rigid crossheads to undertake dynamic performance assessment of resilient parts.
    • The Ling electro-dynamic shaker can perform different types of vibration hose tests, including sine sweeps, random vibration and shock testing. Frequencies can range up to 2000 Hz. Life cycle testing of hoses is frequently performed with the electro-dynamic shaker along with the environmental chamber and pressure system.
