Dynamic Mechanical Analysis

Dynamic mechanical analysis measures the mechanical properties of a material as a function of time, temperature, and frequency. Smithers conducts dynamic mechanical analysis using an RSA II as well as an RPA 2000. The following are common analyses that Smithers complete on a regular basis.

    • Testing of unvulcanized rubber specimens mixed in the laboratory or submitted to Smithers Rapra in the unvulcanized state using an RPA 2000 Rubber Processability Analyzer™
    • Testing of vulcanized rubber specimens mixed in the laboratory or excised from actual products
    • Frequency sweeps, temperature sweeps or strain sweeps
    • Storage modulus, loss modulus, complex modulus, tangent delta
