Compression Properties

Smithers Rapra has a wealth of experience in determining the compression properties of polymeric materials in various forms.

Compressive testing is used to investigate the compressive behaviour of test specimens. It determines the compressive strength, compressive modulus, and other aspects of the compressive stress and strain relationship. 

We have six universal testing machines which cover a calibrated load range of 1N upto 250kN. These are supported by a variety of laser, video and the latest in contact extensometry. Using environmental chambers, we can test over the temperature range of -50°C upto 200°C.

We have extensive sample preparation facilities and on-site moulding capabilities. These give us the flexibility to test a huge variety of materials and product forms. 

Standards and Accreditation

Smithers Rapra is able to test to BS EN 604 for non-cellular plastic materials.
