Compressive Properties

Smithers Rapra have a wealth of experience in determining the compression properties of polymeric materials in various forms.

Compressive tests are used to investigate the compressive behaviour of test specimens and for determining compressive strength, compressive modulus and other aspects of the compressive stress/strain relationship under defined conditions.

We have six universal testing machines which cover a calibrated load range of 1N upto 250kN. Our testing machines are supported by a variety of laser, video and the latest in contact extensometry. 

Sample Preparation

The presence of our extensive samples preparation facilities which include the thickness reduction of rubbers by slitting/buffing and a CNC machine and our on-site moulding function ensure we are able to test a huge variety of materials and product forms.

Environmental Capabilities

The addition of environmental chambers to our machines enable us to test over the temperature range of -50°C upto 200°C.

Standards and Accreditation

Smithers Rapra are able to test rubber materials to BS ISO 7743.
