NIAS (Non-Intentionally Added Substances)

Smithers Rapra together with our laboratory based in Leatherhead can perform a NIAS risk assessment and evaluate the hazard of the identified substances.

In Regulation (EU) 10/2011 it states that NIAS (non-intentionally added substances) that may be present in the final articles, should be risk assessed using internationally recognised scientific principles. NIAS may be present as degradation products of authorised substances or as impurities in authorised substances.

Together with our sister company, we can help you with this risk assessment by measuring NIAS into food simulants and evaluating the hazard of the identified substances.
