The Colour & Vision Group of the University of Alicante is an inter and multidisciplinary research team focused on colour science and technology, and visual perception and ergonomics, involved in the search of technological-scientific solutions where human vision performs an important role in the optimisation and development of industrial processes (even prototypes), and, visual comfort and security of leisure and work activities.

The Laboratory of Colour & Vision has a relevant infrastructure in scientific instruments and resources for specifying the visual, optical and colorimetric properties of any material (http://web.ua.es/en/gvc ). Its scientific-technological offer copes with the next issues for colour science and technology topic: spectral and colorimetric characterisation of special (luminescent, metallic, pearlescent, functional pigments) and normal materials; coloration of materials with conventional dyes and hybrid nano-pigments, and its optimisation by statistical design of experiments (DoE); digital colour reproduction, etc.

The workshop will explore upcoming projects and innovations within the pigment and colour space with reference to day to day applications.

The hugely popular 2017 Pigment & Colour Science Forum will again unite the pigment and colourants sector for 2 days of technical, informative and exciting presentations on all things pigments; from market trends to innovations in material and technology.

The conference will open on the 4 October with a plenary session providing an update on the pigments industry. Presentations Artikol, Tronox and PPG will in turn look into the global pigments industry, consolidation and identifying market drivers.

Other sessions on day one include:

  • Colour Trends and Perceptions - From Market to Consumer with presentations from Expertas Global and BASF
  • Advances in Colour Science with presentations from Merck, Sensient Cosmetic Technologies and LED Y SPA
  • Exploring Innovations across Applications with presentations from Sun Chemical, Carbon BV and Blackberry

As the conference is co-located with the TiO2 World Summit there will also be a joint session on End Market Innovations on day two, alongside the Pigment Properties - Process Revolutions for Enhanced Performance and Novel Opportunities across the Value Chain sessions.

This annual event is a must-attend for all those working with pigments, the knowledge that can be gained is invaluable and the networking opportunities provide all attendees with the chance to make those all important business connections. With a number of leading companies including Clariant, AmorePacific and Sabic Innovative Plastics having already booked their places - can you afford to miss out?
