“Having a space to showcase new vehicle technology and hold driving events, as well as supporting on-site staff with a cafeteria, was a critical need for our clients,” said Sean Connolly, General Manager, Smithers Winter Test Center. “We designed this space with those needs in mind.”
The center’s larger room, the Hiawatha Room, has space for up to 120 guests and a garage door for vehicle entrance and showcasing. Other amenities include:
- Room divider for multiple configurations
- Projection and TV monitors
- A fireplace and rustic wood paneling on the walls, creating a hospitable, attractive environment for events
The smaller DVA Room comfortably seats ten to twelve people around a handcrafted executive table and has a TV monitor for projecting slides and presentation materials. Both rooms come with free wi-fi, complementary coffee and tea all day, and ample on-site parking.
The center has partnered with local caterer Karl’s Cuisine, Winery & Brewery to offer a daily lunch service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for on-site clients and groups using the rental spaces. Karl’s also offers custom catering for private rental groups.
In addition to driving events and product showcases, the center is open for corporate events, family celebrations, and special gatherings in the off-season.
