(Akron, OH) – March 21, 2016 – Smithers Rapra, a world leader in rubber, plastics and composites testing expertise, announced today a new presentation in its annual webinar series, titled “Test Considerations for Fluid Transfer Systems – An Expert Overview.” Fluid transfer systems are widely used in the automotive, industrial and aerospace industries in various end-use applications. Each application presents a unique set of challenges and variables that could affect final performance.
The webinar, scheduled for March 29 at 11am EST, will detail common failure modes of fluid transfer systems as well as several test methods for various industry applications. Smithers Rapra Product Testing Manager, Jeff Andrasik, will present an overview of the most prevalent factors that contribute to failures in fluid transfer systems and how external testing can reduce the time to market for new products.
“There are many OEM specifications for fluid transfer systems and our experts are focused on helping clients ensure their products will meet or exceed them,” said James Popio, Vice President, North America, Smithers Rapra. “Third party laboratory testing serves to replicate real-world conditions which can help our clients expedite the process of bringing new products to market.”
During the one-hour webinar, Andrasik will address several key topic areas for fluid transfer system design engineers and product managers, including:
- Common failure modes under various conditions and applications
- Common test methods by industry, including OEM specifications for automotive, SAE industrial specification and aerospace considerations
- Test setup consideration and conditions in real-world examples
- Increasing efficiency in testing and validation through an independent, third party laboratory
After the presentation, there will be a short Q&A period where attendees can pose questions to the speakers.
Andrasik has developed and executed a wide variety of test programs including pressure, vibration and temperature specifications on automotive, industrial, aerospace, nuclear and consumer products. He has more than 10 years of experience testing rubber and plastic components, electronics and other industrial assemblies against common industry and governmental standards including ASTM, ISO, SAE, Fed, MIL, FDA and automotive OEM specifications.
