FAPAS Score: Smithers Rapra does it again!

Smithers Rapra's Shawbury based laboratory has once again gained an exceptional score from the FAPAS proficiency testing scheme.

When a company provides a service, the most important factor is their ability to complete that service to a good standard. With proficiency testing, businesses can ensure they are achieving this while also offering customers accurate results. FAPAS works across the food and chemistry industries, meaning that Smithers Rapra's Food Contact laboratory falls directly under their testing capabilities. The lab achieved z-scores of 0.2 and -0.2 respectively, improvements on last years scores on 0.7 and 0.5. Considering the acceptable range is between -2.0 and 2.0, these results are very positive.

Dr Andrew Feilden, Chemistry Operations Director, said “Smithers Rapra’s FAPAS results proves the high calibre of our testing team, and demonstrates the accuracy and reliability of our testing processes. Partaking in proficiency schemes like FAPAS is just one of the ways that Smithers Rapra ensures the quality of our testing services for our clients.”

In the past year, Smithers, as a company, have gone from strength to strength. On the back of these external reports by FAPAS, Smithers Rapra aims to continue to provide an accurate, customer orientated service across a wide range of testing capabilities.
