Smithers Rapra opens new Fluids Testing laboratory in Shropshire, UK

Driven by client demand, the new dedicated laboratory provides a wider range of sample conditioning environments, increased capacity, plus shorter turnaround times

The new UKAS accredited laboratory now has greater capacity to provide Fluid Susceptibility Testing to a number of recognised automotive and aerospace standards.

The new laboratory has the increased capability to provide:

  • Environmental testing including end-use in ISO 17025 accredited conditions
  • Polymer performance change testing
  • Testing and support for civil and military aerospace sectors, including testing to a range of international standards including RTCA DO/160G, DEF STAN 00-35 and MIL-STD-810G – Method 504.2
  • Variety of automotive fluid testing, including hydraulic, brake and transmission fluids, fuel vapour, biodiesel and more

In addition to standard testing capabilities, the Smithers Rapra Materials Testing team can also create a bespoke test protocol for clients, or test to an existing protocol.

Smithers Rapra Laboratory Manager Teresa Smith says, “We’re really excited to be able to offer this increased capacity through our new fluids testing lab, which provides an efficient and controlled work flow. Our experts look forward to working with clients from a variety of industries and supporting their testing requirements.”
