Brittleness

The experts at Smithers Rapra have a wealth of experience in determining the low temperature properties of vulcanized and thermoplastic rubber.

Brittleness testing determines the lowest temperature at which materials do not exhibit brittle failure, or the temperature at which 50% of test pieces fail under specified conditions.

Sample Preparation

Our extensive sample preparation facilities can test a huge variety of materials and product forms and are equipped with a CNC machine, on-site moulding, and slitting and buffing equipment to reduce rubber thickness.
