Compression Properties

The experts at Smithers Rapra have a wealth of experience in determining the compression properties of polymeric materials in various forms.

Compressive tests are used to investigate the compressive behaviour of test specimens and for determining compressive strength, compressive modulus, and other aspects of the compressive stress/strain relationship under defined conditions.

Our labs are equipped with six universal testing machines, covering a calibrated load range of 1N upto 250kN. Our testing machines are supported by a variety of laser and video technology and the latest in contact extensometry. 

Sample Preparation

Our extensive sample preparation facilities can test a huge vareity of materials and product forms and are equipped with a CNC machine, on-site moulding, and slitting and buffing equipment to reduce rubber thickness.

Environmental Capabilities

Additional environmental chambers emable our experts to conduct testing in a temperature range from -50°C to 200°C.

Standards and Accreditation

Smithers Rapra are able to test rubber materials to BS ISO 7743.
