Environmental Resistance

Within our ISO 17025 laboratories, Smithers Rapra offers a wide range of environmental testing to suit your polymer type and combination of conditions.

Most polymeric materials are susceptible to change from factors in their environment. Smithers Rapra offers specialist expertise in polymer performance change as a result of environmental conditions. We can advise on appropriate test methodology to suit your application.

Our environmental testing will provide you with confidence in the durability of your product or component once operational in its end-use environment. Our expert team are able to:

  • Create a custom test method tailored to the material/product and it’s life cycle
  • Evaluate material performance when exposed to environmental stress
  • Identify problems with the material design, materials used or manufacturing process, and suggest remedial actions to correct these

We specialise in the test areas below and are always happy to talk to you about the suitability of particular tests, so please contact us if you have questions about the test itself or the support you need for your particular project or issue.
